As the marketing intern for Klüber Lubrication, it was my responsibility to conduct in depth background research on a variety of topics.
One of my goals for the internship was to create a social media implementation plan for the North American division that would be accepted by the more conservative parent company of Klüber in Germany. To do this, I researched the social media presence for all of Klüber's top competitors in every different industry. With this knowledge I was able to showcase a lapse in Klüber's marketing strategy that the competition had already filled. I was able to identify the most successful social media outlets their competitors were using in order to make an educated presentation on which outlets would be best suited for Klüber's needs.
Another goal was to find new exhibits in order to expand the number of trade shows Klüber would attend in the upcoming year. For this, I researched what trade shows Klüber's competitors attend. From there, I researched the trade shows in terms of square footage, attendance past and present, press coverage, industries covered, associations present, amount of growth over the years, how often the show occurs, as well as other guidelines. With this information we were able to make an informed decision on what shows to attend the following year.
In order to help out our sales team, I was tasked with researching and finding factories with corrugate machines. I was able to identify over 80 different factories in the USA that our sales team would be able to visit and potentially sell lubrication to.
